Napoli have made life difficult for Roma at the Olimpico since returning to Serie A in the 2007/08 season. Last term, for example, Mazzarri's side left with all three points: 2-0 thanks to a Cavani brace. The year before then, coached by Donadoni, the Neapolitans were beaten 2-1 as Totti grabbed both goals. There were two draws in the previous two seasons: 4-4 on 21 October 2007 and 1-1 on 31 August 2008. Roma have gone almost three years without a home win in this tie, close to 1000 days: 937 to be precise.
On the other hand, the Giallorossi have edged things at the Stadio San Paolo since 2007: five matches with three Roma victories (2008, 2009, and earlier in the current season, on 18 December 2011), one draw (2010) and one defeat (2010).
The 20:45 kick-off this Saturday evening will be the 130th meeting (home and away) between these two clubs: 45 Roma wins, 47 draws, 37 defeats. Overall the Giallorossi have the upper hand in the capital, having won 28, drawn 27 and lost 9.
Roma's top scorers in the 'Derby of the South' are Totti and Da Costa, who both have seven strikes to their name. Tomorrow is a good opportunity for the captain to become the No.1 marksman in the history of this fixture.
