Milan are currently eight points clear of rivals Inter at the top of Serie A with just three games left in the season, but Gianluca Zambrotta isn't ready to ready to celebrate clinching the Scudetto just yet.

The former Juventus and Barcelona defender warned against talk of any early celebrations, telling Sky: "It is not time to party. We still lack the mathematical certainty to win the tile, wait until Saturday and then we will see. We will celebrate when we have to."

Zambrotta has suffered a difficult spell due to injury, and has played in only 19 matches so far this season.

He added that he is pleased with his role at San Siro, however, saying: "I hope I have given my contribution [this season]. I have no particular problems, I returned this year after an operation and I have tried to do as well as possible."

He also said of Ignazio Abate, who has been deputising at full-back in his absence: "Abate is doing very well.  He's doing a great job, he has great potential not only in Milan but also for the national team."
