Platinum Stars striker Bradley Grobler hopes to win the Lesley Manyathela Golden Boot Award after scoring a brace against Vasco Da Gama on Saturday.Grobler trails current top goal scorer, Kaizer Chiefs' Knowledge Musona, by one goal after scoring 12 times so far.
With Mamelodi Sundowns striker Katlego Mphela and Musona failing to score when their teams played against each other on Sunday, Grobler is now counting on scoring in the two remaining League games to overtake the Zimbabwean international at the top of goal scoring ladder.
"Anything is possible. You saw at the weekend that one game can make a lot of difference. It is important for me to score goals and help the team qualify for a top 8 position," he told KickOff.com.
After starting the season on a low note Grobler says there is no secret to his new found form in front of goals.
"There is no secret; it's just hard work and patience."
Mphela was the top scorer last season with 17 League goals but with only two games left it does not look as though any of the current PSL strikers will surpass his mark.
Other players still in contention of winning the Golden Boot Award include AmaZulu striker Lehlohonolo Majoro and Sundowns striker Nyasha Mushekwi who have both scored 11 goals.
